Vinyl Banners and Vinyl Signs
Durable for Indoor and Outdoor Use.

Vinyl Banner and Vinyl Sign Overview
Vinyl banners and vinyl signs are a favorite among our customers
because vinyl is very durable, versatile, and easy to work with. One of the major
advantages of vinyl is that is can be used both inside and outside -
for many different applications. A vinyl banner or vinyl
sign can be created from several different types of vinyl - each
one lending itself better to certain applications. Because
it's durable, vinyl banners and signs can be mounted, attached, or
hung in several different ways - making vinyl signs and banners very
versatile as well.
One thing the separates Photo Communications from the competition is our
large format printing
capabilities on vinyl and a number of other materials. Please

Different Types of Vinyl for Different Applications
Below are the
different types of vinyl we can use to create your vinyl banners and vinyl
signs - from small sizes to large format vinyl signs and banners.
Scrim Vinyl
Scrim vinyl is a type of vinyl known for its outdoor durability and
strength. Vinyl banners and signs made from scrim vinyl are able
to withstand harsh weather conditions for long periods of time.
It provides a great deal of opacity for banner applications, which
minimizes show-through from sunlight and other factors. Its reinforced
layers provide excellent durability for both indoor and outdoor
applications plus the injet coating allows for high-end,
water-resistant imaging. These features of scrim vinyl make it a
great choice for banners and signs that will be located 100% outside
or moved inside and outside frequently.
Matte Vinyl
Matte vinyl has a water and
glare resistant coating that allows for vibrant, beautiful imaging.
The matte surface of this vinyl allows for wide viewing angles by
effectively reducing glare. Matte Vinyl is traditionally used
for outdoor applications or whenever glare may be a problem when
viewing the vinyl sign or banner.
Gloss Vinyl
Gloss vinyl is designed for printing vibrant, multi-color images that
require a gloss surface or require extra "image pop." Gloss
vinyl can be used in a wide range of banner applications and climatic
conditions.
Blackout Vinyl
Blackout vinyl has a middle layer of black vinyl in between 2 other
layers of vinyl. This middle black layer "blocks out" light from
shining through to the other side. Blackout vinyl is best suited
for 2- sided vinyl banners and vinyl signs, where it is important that
no light be seen from either side. This ensures the images
on opposite sides of the vinyl banner can't be seen.
Adhesive Back Vinyl
Adhesive back vinyl is exactly as the name suggest, a type of vinyl with an adhesive
on the back that allows it to stick on any number of surfaces, from foamboard to vehicles. There are many different types of
adhesive back vinyls for different applications.
Mesh Vinyl
Mesh vinyl has many of the same features as traditional
vinyl, including the ability to handle harsh weather conditions.
However, mesh vinyl has holes in it so light and wind can get through.
Mesh vinyl banners and signs are typically used in outdoor
applications where a very large format vinyl banner will be out in the
open, as opposed to attached to a building or other solid structure.
An example of this would be when a large format vinyl banner is going
to be attached to a fence at a construction site. In situations
such as these, mesh is likely going to be a better choice because
other type of vinyl could act as a very large sail, putting
considerable strain on the fence in heavy winds and could even bring
the fence down. Mesh vinyl allows the wind to pass through the
banner.
Vinyl Sign and Vinyl Banner Mounting and Framing Options
We can mount or frame your vinyl banner using one of several different backing materials.
We will work closely with you to determine the best framing and
mounting option for your particular application. Some
of the more common backing materials we use are Fome-Core®, Gatorboard®,
Sintra®, CoraplastTM,
Lexan®, aluminum,
